The ANC's National General Council (NGC) is underway; watch as President Jacob Zuma leads the crowd in a rendition on Umshini Wami. 

The NGC this weekend is seen to be the curtain raiser for the succession battle leading up to the 2017 national elective conference.

This is despite the party saying it will focus on policy discussions, calling on its members to desist from talking about succession.
