#FarmAttack: Afrikaner farmer, Fanie van der Westhuizen (54) arrested for MURDER for trying to protect his property

BRITS – Fanie van der Westhuizen (54) van Wes-Transvaal word van poging tot moord en die rig van ’n vuurwapen op ‘n vermeende dief aangekla.

Fanie is op borgtog van R5 000 vrygelaat. Luidens sy verklaring het onbekende mans sy damwal Maandag 11:00 geplunder. Die veiligheidsmaatskappy het hulle verjaag, want die polisie het nie op verskeie oproepe gereageer nie. Omstreeks 15:30 het ’n onbekende voertuig by sy hoewe ingery en ’n man by die dam afgelaai. Ook die man het die damstruktuur begin plunder.

Fanie het weer die veiligheidsmaatskappy, en die polisie gebel daarna dam toe gery, die man het die stene laat val toe hy Fanie sien. Die man het in die rigting van Sunway gehardloop. Fanie het hom in sy voertuig agtervolg en die man het geval. Fanie het uitgeklim, waarna die man ’n beweging gemaak het. Fanie het  gedink hy het dalk ’n klip of ander wapen, uit vrees vir sy lewe het hy sy vuurwapen uitgehaal maar nooit die wapen op hom gerig nie.

’n Werker van Fanie en ’n buurman het opgedaag. Intussen het Sunway-inwoners nader gestap en die vermeende dief volgens Fannie aangerand. Die polisie het later opgedaag. Die polisie het met die Sunway-mense gepraat en Fanie gearresteer omdat hy na bewering glo die man met sy voertuig gestamp het.

Volgens Fanie wou die polisie nie sy voertuig ondersoek of ’n verklaring van die buurman afneem nie. Die verrigtinge is tot November uitgestel

Daniëlsrus -- The SA Police Service have recorded a case of murder (against the badly injured farmer) and a case of suspected murder (against the two suspects who got away). The farmer was shot in the stomach and right elbow when the three black gunmen stormed into his homestead, guns blazing. The farmer shot back, injuring one gunman in the elbow. When the paramedics arrived at the scene, the injured man was declared dead.
