Elderly widow brutally raped and burnt in farm attack
A widow and farmer was brutally attacked, raped, stabbed and burnt with a hot iron during a farm attack on Sunday evening near Van Reenen.
2 black attackers demanded money from the 57-year-old widow and then tied her up in her farm house, with her hands behind her back. The elderly woman was then stabbed below her knee and also in the shoulder when she told them that all the money she had was in her purse.
The black killers took a hot iron and burnt her badly, numerous times. They then dragged her into a bedroom, where they allegedly raped her. They fled the scene in a white bakkie, making off with money and a cell-phone.
The widow managed to untie herself and raised the alarm.
When police and paramedics arrived, she was rushed to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital.
The woman was forced to endure a horrendous wait at the hospital before being attended to.
We are awaiting comment from the hospital as to why a woman who had been attacked and raped was forced to wait for a “rape test” from the Rape Crisis Centre.
