ANOTHER ‪#‎MURDER‬: Wife finds husband murdered at home in Blairgowrie

The victim Ian Murry (81) was found dead by his wife with a stab wound at the back of his head. Murry’s wife did not live with him and last spoke to him over the phone on 12 January

BLAIRGOWRIE – Car, laptop and cellphone were found missing from the murder scene.
A murder and robbery took place in Elbon Street in Blairgowrie between 12 and 14 January.

The victim’s wife went over on Thursday and accessed the premises using her gate remote. She noticed that her husband’s car was not there, a white Mazda Etude with the registration number NT 57066. She then found the burglar door wide open and the wooden door was closed but not locked. She went inside and found him lying on the bed – dead.

“At this stage, the vehicle, laptop and cellphone are missing and there was no forced entry,” said Linden Police corporate communications officer Constable Carol Mulamu. The crime scene was visited by the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRS) and the cluster duty officer Lieutenant Colonel Govender.

The Linden Police are looking for Murry’s gardener to come forward and assist in the investigation.

The Linden Police are urging community members to contact the investigating officer Warrant Officer Anton Seeber on 011 888 9211/2/3 with any information that can help with the case.
