Murder: SA artist Manie (Emanuel) St.Clare Bothma, 63, was shot dead in cold blood at Amanda Park, north of Pretoria on 16 March 2016 in a high-security complex.
His son Dali Emanuel Bothma - who lived with him - confirmed to us in writing that his father was shot down in front of him at their Amandasig apartment on 16 March 2016. -- Earlier, the Rekord North daily had quoted the Amandasig Action group manager Erich Landsberg as saying that 'three black attackers had apparently gained entrance to a house in a security complex in Karen Park. The son said he was named after the artist Salvador Dali. The artist also leaves behind an older son, Picasso Emanuel Bothma, who was named after the artist Picasso.
Dali Botha said only a cellphone was stolen and 'they took his car'.

The Rekord North daily wrote earlier that Manie St Clare Bothma, 63, was shot dead in view of his son.
They also quoted the Amandasig Action Group (AAG) operations manager Erich Landsberg as saying that three black attackers had apparently gained entrance to a house in a security complex in Karen Park. “The details are not clear yet, but it seemed the attackers broke into the man’s home and shot him dead in front of his son,” Landsberg said.
The police and CPF were called to the scene.
A vehicle appeared to have disappeared from the premises.
