Human trafficking: warning issued against Serbian citizen Zoran Manic by SA female victim who was lured to Serbia
25 March 2016 - "Warning to all young women on facebook: beware of this man Zoran Manic of Pirot, Serbia - (he goes under many other aliases and fake pictures
and it's also a very common name in that country... )
This particular guy on this photograph is the actual person being accused of being a social-media predator of lonely young women - lures them to Serbia under false pretences in a
human trafficking scam. And then the women are stuck in a strange country without any support-network...]
One young South African woman was lured to Serbia by this man and managed to escape after she was beaten and all her money was taken away from her.
She is now living in a refugee-camp in Serbia and has been for two years since she fled from the man's house in December 2014.
She is awaiting deportation as she cannot afford to pay for her return ticket, having no money. Her immigration documents into Serbia were legal: she is a trained
make-up artist and brought all her make-up supplies with her because she wanted to start a business in Serbia with it.
She said the man searches out young women 'from troubled countries like South Africa' to lure them to Serbia. She had seen piles of clothes of different sizes, handbags
and personal belongings of women in his house and believes he has lured many young women to Serbia this way. She tried to lodge criminal charges against him
at three different Serbian police stations but the local authorities refused to take the complaint and she believes the man is 'being protected by local authorities'.
Due to the possible danger she may still be in, she cannot be identified until she has been safely returned to South Africa.
